What to wear and pack for your trip to Napa Valley

It is California, we may not be upscale but we are always in style.  Consider the following when packing for your next trip to Napa Valley...

  • Wine tasting days out: we suggest dressing as if you were going shopping in New York City - in style, but still casual; dress to impress

  • Dinner out: cocktail attire for women and slacks for men; if its hot in the evening khaki shorts and a summer dress are ok

  • Special dinners, events or the wine train: jackets are suggested, pants suit, cocktail dress for women

  • Horseback riding: closed-toed shoes, long pants or jeans

  • For Hot Air Ballooning: it's pretty cool in the morning so wear layers, pants, comfortable shoes

Seasonal Packing considerations:

  • Early Springtime (February, March and April): It can be as warm at 80 degrees; it can be rainy; it can be gorgeous, but cloud over in the afternoon Check the weather; call us a day or two before you arrive to really get the skinny

  • Early Summer (May & June): A bit more consistent hovering around 80 degrees; sweater in the AM

  • Veraison/Summertime (July & August): Averaging in the low 90s; cools at night to high 60s shorts and sun dresses for day; and maybe a sweater at night

  • Harvest Time (September, October & November): Still warm; mid 80s with more fluctuations to the 60s and then up to the 90s sometimes

  • Wintertime (December & January): Cold around high 40s to the low 60s; rains a lot in January.
